Roulette, like poker, craps and blackjack is a game of chance. It is also a game that is popular not only in the United States, but all over the world. It is probably played in more casinos across the globe then any other game of chance. But just because it is considered to be a game of chance, doesn’t mean that it can’t be reduced into mathematical terms in order to figure out which bets are the best to place. It can be. I am going to give you some roulette statistics that will enable you to choose the right bet. If your ready, then let’s get on with it.

There are two versions of roulette, so I am going to be giving you roulette statistics for each one.

The European table is the one that is the most popular, so that is where we will begin our little study of roulette statistics. I may alternate between the American and the European tables as we go along so that you can compare and contrast how the particular roulette statistics work out.

The most common bet that players make, on both the European and the American tables, is the straight bet. This is a bet that is placed on one number and one that you are probably the most familiar with. You can’t watch a movie that contains a roulette scene, that doesn’t show the players enthusiasticly making straight bets. Unfortunately, it is the worst bet you can make. It only has a one in thirty-seven chance of winning on a European roulette wheel. This means that a player will lose his bet thirty-six out of thirty-seven spins of the wheel. The roulette statistics state that this bet only has a 2.70% chance of winning. On the American table, the straight bet has odds that are even worse. The player has a 2.63% chance of winning.

The second most common bet is the split bet. This bet, which is a bet on two numbers at the same time, has better odds then the straight bet, but not by a whole lot. Roulette statistics state that on a European table, this bet has a 5.41 % chance of winning. On an American table it has a 5.26% chance of winning. If you ask me, that is a pretty significant difference.

Now that you are sufficiently depressed, let me give you some of the bets that have the best roulette statistics. One of the best bets that you can place is one of the outside bets. These are bets that are placed on red/black, even/odd and high/low. They are called outside bets because they are on the outside of the table. According to roulette statistics, these bets have a 48.65% chance of scoring a win, and on American tables they have a 47.37% chance of winning. Those are pretty good odds if you ask my opinion. The bet that has the next best roulette statistics is actually a tie between the dozen bet and the column bet. These bets have a 32.43% chance of scoring a win on a European table and they have a 31.58% chance of winning on an American table. Those aren’t too bad if you ask my opinion.

Hopefully you can take these roulette statistics into consideration when you are working on your next big roulette winning strategy. By carefully analyzing these numbers you can help yourself place the bets that are going to put you into the black. Of course, if you purchase a roulette system that does this analysis for you, then you won’t even need these numbers.
