What prevents many people from enjoying the game of roulette is the confusion over the roulette payout structure. While it might seem complex at first, the roulette payout system is really not that hard to comprehend. But since I know that there are a number of players, both novices and intermediate players, who struggle with roulette payouts I have decided to give you a brief explanation of how it works and what you can expect from them.

What a roulette payout is worth depends on the type of bet that is placed by the player. While roulette is a game of chance and there is no rationality behind what numbers come up and when they come up, players are essentially left to their own devices.

But this doesn’t mean that a player can’t take proactive measures to make his own luck and win a greater percentage of the time. All it takes is a little strategy and a thorough knowledge of roulette payouts.

Let me give you an explanation of these payout structures. The most common bet that is made on a roulette table is a straight bet. A straight bet is a wager that is placed on one single number; 36 for instance. This bet has a thirty-five to one payout on most roulette tables. What exactly does that mean, you ask? Well, it means that for every dollar that is wagered, the player can expect to get thirty-five dollars if they win. So if a player bets three dollars on a straight bet, then they will win one hundred and five dollars. That is a great roulette payout, but it is very hard to pull off because the player only has a one in thirty-seven chance of winning.

Another common bet is the split bet. This is a bet that is placed on two numbers. Players place this bet by sticking their chips on the dividing line between two numbers. This bet has better odds of winning than a straight bet, but it also has a lower payout. The split bet has a payout of seventeen to one. So, once again if you place three dollars on this bet and win, then you will receive twenty-one dollars in return. Now let’s move on to the rest of the bets and the individual payouts that you can expect to use at your next game.

A trio bet is a bet that is placed on three numbers. This bet has a roulette payout of eleven to one. Other types of bets that can be placed include the corner bet (eight to one payout), five bet (six to one payout), line bet (five to one payout) and the dozen bet (two to one payout). All of these bets are called the inside bets. The outside bets are a little bit different and include wagers such as betting on black or red, even or odd, and high or low. These bets are the easiest to win and have a roulette payout of one to one.

Okay, this concludes my article on roulette payouts. I have shared everything that I know and I hope that you put the information to good use. Approaching the table without knowing what the payouts are or approaching the table without a strategy is as good as throwing your money away. But if you have a solid knowledge of what the individual odds and payouts are, and play the game with a good strategy, then you have a great chance of winning a greater percentage of the time. I would wish you good luck with your roulette endeavors, but I know that you probably won’t need it because you are well informed.
