Welcome to our little guide on roulette betting strategies. The purpose of this guide is to guide you through the various roulette betting strategies so that you can differentiate between the ones that are really worth taking a look at and those which may not have any worth at all. If you are trying to find the best strategies for improving your game and reducing the advantage of the house, then you have come to the right place. We will help you sort out fact from fiction and in the process you will be able to play better and win more often.

Out of all the various roulette betting strategies, there are a few that don’t really help the player at all.

One of these strategies, which I am going to be referring to as the gambler’s myth for the purpose of this guide, is based on a simple, albeit false, premise. It is the premise that past spins on the wheel dictate future spins. The gambler’s myth states that if a number has not come up for a predetermined number of spins then it is more likely to come up. This is completely false. Each and every spin of the wheel is independant from any other spin, past or future. What this means is that just because the number nine hasn’t come up in the past ten spins, it doesn’t mean that it is “due” to come up in the next couple of spins. Sure, it could come up in the next spin or it could take another one hundred spins. We just never know because each spin of the wheel is completely random. So, the gambler’s myth is not one of the roulette betting strategies that are effective for your efforts to win the game.

One of the next roulette betting strategies that I want to talk about is the Martingale System. This is a progressive system that requires players to double their bets after each unsuccessful spin. The theory behind this system is that when you do win, your bet will be enough to cover all the past losses you have experienced. But using this system by itself is flawed. That is because each roulette table has a maximum betting limit. If a player experiences a losing streak, then they will either smack right into the maximum betting limit or run out of money. And this can happen in as few as ten bets or lose. A progressive system can be one of the most effective roulette betting strategies, if it is combined with other systems. I’ll explain this a bit later.

One of the best roulette strategies that can be utilized effectively is using an outside betting techniques. If you have played the game of roulette for any length of time, then you know that the outside bets include wagers placed on red/black, even/odd and high/low. Many of these bets are called even-money bets because they have an almost fifty-fifty chance of winning. These are the best bets on the board and can improve your chances of winning dramatically. If this system is combined with a limited progressive system, then this bet can win a surprisingly large amount of the time. Especially if they are used on a European table that already has a very low house advantage.

Which brings me to my next point. There are many good roulette systems that you can purchase that will increase your odds of winning. These programs often use mathematical analysis combined with various roulette betting strategies to help you reduce the advantage of the house. While there is no system that can gurantee that you will win one hundred percent of the time, many of these programs will help you win a lot more often and win bigger payouts.

If you are looking for a roulette betting strategy, than you have no shortage of systems to choose from on the internet. But, what most people don’t realize is that the majority of these systems have inherent flaws. Most systems that use some kind of mathematical formula as the basis for their roulette betting strategy will simply not work. That’s because roulette is a game of chance, just like craps or playing the lotto. And games of chance are very hard to beat.

Having said that, however, there are a number of strategies that I would like to talk about today. The first is the martingale roulette betting strategy.
Roulette Betting Strategy

This strategy has been used for hundreds of years to some success by gamblers who have an abundance of funds. I say an abundance of funds because the martingale system requires a large bankroll in order for it to be successful. And that becomes abundantly clear after you learn the basics of this roulette betting strategy. So, let me give you an overview. The martingale is a progressive roulette betting strategy that requires a player to double his bet every time he loses. This is so that when a win is eventually secured then the player has a profit that is equal to his original wager. Let’s say that a player bets ten dollars. If that bet loses then he bets twenty dollars; if that loses too then he bets forty dollars. And this can go on into eternity, at least theoretically. When you listen to the basics of this roulette betting strategy then it really sound good. But, in reality the player can be required to eventually place huge bets or slam head first into maximum wager limits.

Another roulette betting strategy is called the grand martingale. This strategy can be even worse then the original martingale. It is based on the same principle as the original except for one twist. Instead of just doubling the money after each loss, the player also adds an extra unit. So, if a player bets five dollars and loses then the next bet he would place is fifteen dollars (that is the original bet double and the original betting unit added). This can result in losing your bankroll even faster then the original.

The last roulette betting strategy that I would like to talk about is called the cancellation method. This method is a lot safer than the martingale system, and a whole lot safer then the grand martingale system. Using this system, the player starts with a series of different numbers and bets the total of each end. If the player wins the wager then he crosses off his numbers and starts a new series. On the other hand, if he loses then he adds the total that he just played to the end of the number series. Not only can this roulette betting strategy be hard to remember (especially after a couple of drinks), but it can also rack up some pretty good loss totals if the player runs into a losing streak.

And there are a ton more systems out there to investigate, though we don’t have the space here to go into all of them. What we have learned about roulette betting systems is something that can be applied to all games of chance. While all of the systems work some of the time, and some of the systems work some of the time, none of the systems work all of the time. So, use these systems or any of the systems that you find on the internet with extreme caution.
