Many people who are new to the game of roulette get confused by the wagering system. So, in the interest of clarity, I have decided to talk a little about roulette bets. I am going to be discussing the most common ones and how the payouts are structured. If you want to learn the basics of roulette bets then continue reading. I guarantee that you will come out of this article a little more knowledgable then when you began.
There are a number of roulette bets and they all have belong to a payout class. One of the most basic payout classes is the one to one. The one to one payout is just like it sounds. If you bet a dollar then you win a dollar.

This is the simplest roulette bets and can be achieved by betting on either red or black, or by betting on even or odd. These two bets are really simple. Your either betting that a particular color will come up or that a particular number will be even or odd. There is another type of bet in this payout class, however. It’s called the high or low. This method is as simple as the other two, as soon as you learn what is meant by high or low. A low bet is from one through eighteen, while a high bet is from nineteen through thirty-six. So, if you bet high and the number twenty-six comes up then you win. Pretty simple, huh?
The next class of roulette bets belongs to the two to one class. In this class if you bet a dollar and win, then you wind up with two. The first roulette bet in this class is called a dozen. When you bet on a dozen, you are betting on a group of twelve numbers; one through twelve, thirteen through twenty-four, for instance. Also in this class is the column bet. Using this roulette bet you are betting on all the numbers that are above the box marked “2 to 1″. There are three boxes on the table, so you have a variety of choices. And that concludes the bets that are in the two to one payout class.
Our next class of roulette bets pays out at a ratio of five to one. There is only one wager in this class. It is called a line bet. If you place your wager on the outer right boundary line of the roulette table, its where the dividing line is for the two rows. Examples of line bets include 7,8,9+10,11,12 or 31,32,33+34,35,36. If you place a bet on one of these lines and one of the numbers comes up then you win.
A five bet is even simpler than a line bet and has a payout of six to one. You have five choices for placing a bet; 00, 0. 1, 2, or 3. You place this bet by putting your chips on the outer boundary line. A corner bet is close to a five bet, but has a payout of eight to one. And it’s also easy to remember. You are basically just placing your bet on the four corners between lines.
The next class of roulette bets pays at a ratio of eleven to one. The only roulette bets in this class is the street bet. Using this bet, you are placing a wager on three numbers. All you do to place this wager is to place your chips at the boundary of where the row of three begins. But, the most basic of all classes of roulette, and the last one we are going to cover, pays out at a ration of thirty-seven to one. This is the straight-up bet. You place your chips on a single number, and if it wins, then you win. It has a high payout, but is also the bet that is the hardest to win.
