Betting Roulette

Maybe its because the game of roulette is a little bit slower than other traditional casino games, but it seems like betting roulette systems are used by more players during this game then any other. People like to use betting roulette systems on even money bets the most and it appears that it gives them a greater sense of security. And people tend to search for these systems on the internet. But not all of these systems are equal and some are better then others.

One of the most popular roulette betting system is the Martingale. This system is a very simple one and can be summed up in only a few sentences. A player places his bet on a number.

Betting Roulette

If that number loses, then he doubles his next bet. Here is a quick example. A player bets ten dollars and loses. On his next bet he bets twenty dollars. He continues to do this until he wins (or so the theory goes). When he does win, he wins enough to cover his past losses and make a small profit. But there is a significant flaw with this roulette betting strategy. The player usually slams into the maximum bet of the table, or even worse, he runs out of money entirely. Let me give you another quick example. If a player starts out a five dollars, then by the fourth bet he is up to forty dollars. If the maximum bet of the table is five hundred dollars, then he is past it in seven consecutive losses. He cannot even bet the six hundred and forty dollars that is needed to fix the six hundred and thirty-five dollars in previous losses.

Now people always say that seven losses in a row is a rare thing, but it does happen every once in a while. Statistically, a player can expect a significant losing streak in every one hundred and twenty-one spins. And to make it worse, the player doesn’t know when that losing streak is going to occur. And since the wheel doesn’t have a memory there is no way to predict when this losing streak is going to happen.

Okay, lets move on to the next betting roulette system, the Grand Martingale. This is essentially a ramped-up version of the Martingale, except it moves a lot faster. Instead of merely doubling the bet after each loss, the player doubles the bet and adds an additional unit. As you can see, this gives it the same flaw as the Martingale, except it happens a lot faster. If a player starts out at a five dollar bet, then he will hit a five hundred dollar table limit in only six losses. And by that time he would be down an amazing six hundred dollars.

Our next betting roulette strategy is called the Cancellation Method. This method is not as risky as either of the Martingale systems, but it really isn’t a solution either. Under this system, the player starts with a series of numbers and bets the total on either end. If he wins, he cancels the numbers on his list by crossing them off. If he loses, he add the total that he played to the end of the series. When all the numbers are cancelled, the result is a profit that is equal to the sum of the starting numbers. While the player who uses this system doesn’t have the endemic losses that the Martingale players will have, but he can experience significant losses all the same.

My word of advice is to avoid the free internet systems. Spend a little money and purchase a betting roulette strategy that uses advanced techniques to help beat the house advantages. Losses may still happen from time to time, but with a good strategy a player can beat the house a greater percentage of the time and make a tidy profit.
